On November 30, 2011, the Amador Catholic Community officially became St. Katharine Drexel Parish. Most Reverend Jaime Soto, Bishop of the Diocese of Sacramento, proclaimed the new parish name in an historic ceremony that united six Catholic churches in the former three parishes of Amador County.
The ceremony included the installation of our new Pastor, Reverend Lawrence J. Beck.
The six mission churches that now comprise our one parish are:
Immaculate Conception in Sutter Creek
Our Lady of the Pines in Pioneer
Sacred Heart of Jesus in Ione
St. Bernard in Volcano
St. Mary of the Mountains in Plymouth
St. Patrick in Jackson
St. Katharine Drexel Parish includes the Parish Center in Jackson (Martell), formerly known as the Amador Catholic Center. The Center is currently under reconstruction to become a multi-purpose facility to support the social and spiritual needs of all the Catholic churches in the parish. It is also home to the parish office and is located at:
11361 Prospect Drive
Jackson, CA 95642
(Martell)
209-223-2970
Monday-Friday, 9 AM - 4:30 PM
The Parish Center currently has a small chapel, where Mass is celebrated on Thursdays and Fridays at 8 AM. Vigil Mass is now celebrated each Saturday evening at 5 PM. Confessions are heard at the Parish Center from 3:30 - 4:30 PM on Saturdays.
